Accessibility

Accessible advice, by design.

We want every client — whatever their needs — to be able to read, use and act on our advice.

Accessibility

How we make our service accessible

From the website to the advice process itself, here is what we commit to and how to ask for something different.

01

Our commitment

Equation Financial Services Ltd aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This statement sits alongside our Vulnerable Customers policy and forms part of how we meet the FCA Consumer Duty “consumer support” outcome. Vulnerable Customers
02

What we do

We design pages with sufficient colour contrast and scalable text, provide keyboard-accessible navigation and visible focus states, label form fields, buttons and images for screen readers, and offer plain-English content with a dedicated glossary. glossary
03

Alternative formats

If you need any of our documents — Illustration, IDD, Terms of Business, Suitability Report, Complaints Policy — in large print, plain text, Braille, audio or another format, we will provide them free of charge, usually within 5 working days.
04

Reasonable adjustments

We can adjust how we communicate and meet: longer appointment times, a trusted third party present, video or phone instead of in-person, written follow-ups after every call, and adviser continuity. Tell us what works for you when you book a fact-finding call, or at any point during the process.

Honesty

Known limitations

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We have not yet completed an independent external audit, and we know the following areas fall short or are still being tested.

01

PDF documents

Some of our guides and disclosure documents are PDFs that are not yet fully tagged for screen readers. Ask us and we will send the same content in accessible plain text, large print or another format free of charge.
02

Third-party content

Content we link to or embed from other organisations (for example the FCA Register, the Financial Ombudsman Service and lender websites) is outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
03

Calculators and the Einstein chat

Our calculators and the online chat assistant are being reviewed for keyboard navigation and screen reader announcements. If either is difficult to use, an adviser will do the same job with you by phone or email.
04

Testing and review

Testing is currently carried out in-house using automated tools and manual keyboard and screen reader checks. We review this statement at least every 12 months and fix reported issues as a priority.
